Three Eaglets Confirmed in NBG Nest

NBG Eagles Third Chick-2NBG Eagles Third Chick-3

Well the Norfolk Botanical Garden bald eagles have done it again – produced three eaglets. Sometime overnight the third eaglet hatched. At 9:09 this morning I was certain that I had seen the new eaglet being fed, but it was not until the three chicks were being fed by the female at 2:30 this afternoon were we able to see all three together (photos above).

This is a question for Mr. Lukei — today I saw female barn owl (talons and underside only, really) in the Cobb Island “igloo” — any possibility that this is the same female from last October?
(Sorry to interrupt all the happiness here at NBG, but that really puzzles me.)
Thank you in advance.

Thanks you so much Reese. This is truly wonderful. Wishing good health and a long life to our new Eaglets.

So bobblehead #1 is our miracle eaglet from the egg laid on the snow…fantastic! This pair is certainly a credit to their species. I’ll enjoy watching these three just as I did HK, Azalea and HE last year.

Reese, any plans to put a transmitter on one or all of these? I’d love to see how siblings act during their youthful travels.
